The Code of Conduct below must be filled out and submitted by each main sponsor; it must include each delegate's full name and signature. Each delegate and sponsor must also submit a Media Release. Forms can be submitted via email to email@example.com or brought in hard copy the day of the conference.
EXPECTATIONS FOR DELEGATES
Code of Conduct: Delegates are expected to remain in character at all times during committee sessions by adhering to the policies and interests of their assigned country or person. This entails displaying respect for the opinions and ideals of fellow delegates, even if these opinions and ideals conflict with their own priorities or the interests of their own assigned country or person.
Decorum: Delegates are expected to maintain decorum by displaying utmost courtesy and professionalism at all times. Delegates are expected to behave as professional adults both in respect for fellow delegates, respect, and courtesy toward SMH-MUN staff, and respect for the facilities at Saint Mary’s Hall. In this regard, delegates are responsible for their own trash and may not bring food into the committee rooms. After each committee session, each delegate is to clean his/her own area before leaving the room.
Note Passing: Note passing is allowed, except during voting procedure. Note passing allows delegates to send formal notes to fellow delegates in order to ask questions, inform another delegate about an opinion or to ask for support for your own resolution, and as such it is an extremely effective tool to network for your resolution. As note passing is intended to support diplomatic discussion, informal, personal, or inappropriate notes will be collected by the chair and the delegate may be dismissed from a committee immediately at the discretion of the chair, after consultation with the conference director.
Attire: All clothing must portray professionalism and modesty. Standard delegate attire for the conference is formal, business dress.
